With all this rain falling upon us, it’s no wonder that everyone’s on the lookout for the next exciting holiday destination. Well if you’re stumped on where to go the next time you jet off, why not take some inspiration from the 15 most popular Tourist Attractions in the world.
15. Tokyo DisneySea, Tokyo: 12,656,000 Annual Visitors
The counterpart to Tokyo other Disney theme park, Tokyo DisneySea, located in Chiba, Japan, just outside Tokyo, is 176 acres filled with a whole array of wonderful waters rides and attractions around several lakes.
14. Golden Gate Park, San Francisco: 13,000,000 Annual Visitors
As the 5th most popular park in the USA, Golden Gate Park is a urban public 20% larger than Central Park, New York. With 15 major features including the Academy of Sciences & a Japanese Tea Garden, the park is one of San Francisco’s biggest Tourist Attractions.
13. Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris: 13,650,000 Annual Visitors
Closer to home, Notre Dame Cathedral has been a major part of French history ranging from the many Anglo-French Royal weddings to canonisation of Joan of Arc, which is felt all throughout the building that millions enjoy every year.

12. Tokyo DisneyLand, Tokyo: 14,847,000 Annual Visitors
Teamed up with the previously mentioned Tokyo DisneySea, the theme park which was the first Disneyland opened outside of the USA offers it’s own Eastern influences on Disney, creating one of the most unique theme parks in the world.
11. Grand Bazaar, Istanbul: 15,000,000 Annual Visitors
As one of my favourite attractions in the list, this one-of-a-kind marketplace is situated in the heart of the turkish capital and spans across 61 covered streets with more than 3,000 shops. With it’s ancient beginnings and unique insight into the turkish culture, Grand Bazaar is definitely somewhere you want to shop.
10. Forbidden City, Beijing: 15,300,000 Annual Visitors
As the Chinese Imperial Palace for almost 500 years, this attraction was the home and workplace of some of the greatest Emperors as well as being an integral part of the Government. Just don’t get lost in the maze of 980 buildings!
9. Disneyland Park, California: 15,963,000 Annual Visitors
Yet another Disney addition to the list, Disneyland Park hold it’s uniqueness by being the only Disney park that was designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. After all, first is best.
8. DisneyWorld’s Magic Kingdom, Florida: 17,536,000 Annual Visitors
With 6 different themed regions and 40 main rides, DisneyWorld is the most popular Disney park in the world, and rightly so. Millions enjoy their trip swimming with the Little Mermaid and flying to space with Buzzlight Year.
7. Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Massachusetts: 18,000,000 Annual Visitors
As the backdrop of many famous Civil War speeches, Faneuil Hall often called “the Cradle of Liberty” has been a market hall and meeting hall since 1742 and now hosts an whole range of shops, restaurants, music halls and theatres intertwined with breathtakingly good street performers.

Many don’t know this, but Grand Central is the station that has the greatest number of platforms with 44 serving 67 tracks. Because of the sheer size of the Terminal, Grand Central was the focal point during the heyday of American Railway.

Another one of my favourite places in the world, Time Square is full of wishes and wonders of the crowds of people that visit it everyday. The bright lights and constant entertainment has proven itself to be part of the reasoning behind Time Square being the second most visited Tourist Attraction in the world.

Maybe it’s because “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” that it’s become the most popular attraction or it could be because of the famous dancing Bellagio Fountains, or maybe the 100s of casino’s and party destinations that 39 million visitors want to visit every year.
